Under-secretary for Tourism Investments, National Tourism Ministry
Ramiro holds a degree in Tourism at UM-Universidad de Morón and MBA degree with a certificate of honor at UCEMA-Universidad del CEMA.
Ramiro started his career in the airline industry working for Aerolíneas Argentinas and British Airways, in 2002 he moved to hotel business in the sales and marketing areas working for international chains as Starwood Hotels -Sheraton and Park Tower Buenos Aires- and Four Seasons -Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires- and national and regional chains as Panamericano Hotels & Resorts and Eurobuilding Hotels Group. Then, Ramiro carried out the Business Plan, Commercial Strategy and Start-Up of boutique luxury hotels in Patagonia as El Casco Art Hotel in Bariloche & Los Sauces Casa Patagónica in El Calafate.
As from June 2010, he joined HVS team, based in Buenos Aires, providing leading tourism consultancy in the Spanish-speaking Latin American markets, focusing in Strategic Planning, Destination Marketing and Investment Marketing, carrying out Projects in Argentina and South America.
As from April 2012 he became CEO at CAT-Cámara Argentina de Turismo -Argentine Chamber of Tourism that brings together 20 national tourism associations, leading the team to promote and develop tourism in Argentina working together with Argentina Ministry of Tourism. In this role, as from May 2013, he participated as Secretary-General in the founding team of CETUR-Consejo Empresarial de Turismo de Sudamérica -South America Business Council for Tourism-, together with Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia and Chile colleagues to develop tourism in South America region.
In 2015, Ramiro worked as Argentina business development consultant for STR and co-founded inverTUR | Foro de Negocios e Inversiones en Turismo . He also worked as Tourism Coordinator at Fundación Pensar developing “2015-19 Argentina Tourism Plan”. By December 2015 he became interim President of Ente de Turismo de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires -Buenos Aires City DMO- to lead team transition and set 2015-19 Tourism Plan for the City. By March 2016, joined Argentina Ministry of Tourism in the role of Parliamentary & Institutional Affairs at Minister´s Unit team. By March 2017, in the role of Undersecretary for Tourism Investments, Ramiro focuses on “making tourism investment opportunities happen”.
