Alejo Rodriguez Cacio
Director of InvestBA, BA´s Investment and Trade Promotion Agency
Alejo Rodríguez Cacio joined the BA City’s Government in February 2016. He is currently Director of investBA, the City´s Investment and Trade Promotion Agency. investBA has a two-goal mission: to position BA as the main FDI destination in Latin America, and to promote BA’s talent, products and services globally.
Previously, Alejo Rodríguez Cacio was Senior Policy Advisor in Economics and Finance at the Argentine National Congress, where he was responsible for the analysis of the economic situation and policy reform. In the private sector, Alejo Rodríguez Cacio has been Chief Economist at Unilever Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. He has also worked at Bank of America Argentina as Supervisor of the Securities and Corporate Actions Departments, leading several private and public debt swaps. He has also been senior consultant of domestic and international financial companies, covering Latin American equity and fixed-income markets.
Alejo Rodríguez Cacio has undergraduate studies in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), masters studies in Finance from the Torcuato Di Tella University (Argentina), and masters studies in Economics from the University of York (UK). He has also attended the Bucerius School on Global Governance (Germany). Alejo Rodríguez Cacio has been awarded a British Chevening Scholarship, and has acted as President and Board Member of the Argentine Chevening Alumni Association. Alejo Rodríguez Cacio is lecturer at various universities, including undergraduate, graduate, and MBA courses, and has won the CFA Research Challenge Competition local level (Argentina and Uruguay) for three consecutive years: 2014, 2015, and 2016.
